HOPE

On December 23rd I received treatment no. 3 (out of 6 treatments, we are half way there) prior to the treatment, I met with my Oncologist. I received really good news. The results of a CT scan showed that the smaller growths are fading and the lager one is at the very least the same, if not getting smaller (these were the results after only two treatments). On this day, the clouds came down and touch my cheek!!
Needless to say, Christmas held a whole new meaning for me and my family this year.
There were no gifts exchanged, the focus was not placed on material things only the overwhelming feeling of gratefulness and appreciation for each other.

My sister Ana and her family (who now live in Cancun, Mexico) were here for the holidays, which made our time together that much more special.

It was a wonderful Christmas

Carmen,

The painting is beautiful and I think she captured your spirit perfectly, you are a fighter!

And you're right Christmas was indeed different this year and we truly enjoyed spending it with you and the rest of the family.

However, you are wrong about the gifts.

Carmen did something that caught all of us by surprise. She handmade Christmas ornaments for the women in the family. They were all beautiful and they came with individual heartfelt cards with each ornament for our mom, my sisters and me. Not only were we surprised but it was such a special moment she created when she gave them to us. More than one shed a tear or 2 or 3 or 4.
They are gifts that will remind us of this very special Christmas every time we take them out to decorate our Christmas tree.
Thank you Carmen and it was great spending time with you and the kids!!

Love, Ana Warriorsister
